Man's struggle against authority
by Rose Wilder Lane
I came across this book pretty late on my journey to liberalism and it struck me like a lightning. Here it was, a concise and easy to grasp explanation of views and beliefs held by people and the consequences of those beliefs for societies and every individual. Her very basic idea is that everything is energy. There is living energy, we call life, and there is dead energy like storms, earthquakes and the like. Living energy constantly struggles to survive, fighting against dead energies and other living energies as well. Survival is a question of circumstances and own efforts. It is the struggle of living energy.
Wilder Lane starts her book with the chapter called "The Situation" where she lays the foundation for her argument. She develops it in the following parts in an easy to read, yet, sound way.
I will start to read the book again, page by page, and live blog a summary of each chapter including comments and remarks.
Let's see what the outcome will be.
I hope, it will help at least some to get aquainted with one of my most adored libertarian author, Rose Wilder Lane.
