Back and forth with Boettke

I commented on a post by Pete Boettke at the Austrian Economists blog on “standards” in economics, and the importance of credentials for moving the conversation in economics forward – who can do it and what training they must have to do it.  I want to say that too much commitment to “standards” make change a non-starter because the contested thing is the “standards” for what is economics and what is not, what is philosophy and what is not, what is good economics and what is not, etc.  It’s essentially contested.

You can read Boettke's post and my comments on it here.
